Recently, our team headed up to Stockton, CA to meet up with Arwin (MilsimJunkie on the interwebz) and check out his totally awesome field, CQB City.
First off, the road trip took us about 6 hours after our car accident. Yes, car accident. After about an hour of driving, we were rear ended by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel. Very common during rush hour actually. The hot sun pounding down on you, traffic sucks, etc. Taking a road time nap is very appealing. Anyways, 2 hours later (had to wait for the cops because the other party didn’t have insurance) we finally were on the road again. The trip was fun and everyone was beat after finally arriving in Stockton, CA. We ended up at Denny’s and Casper ordered some never ending pancakes. Good times.
We showed up and took a quick walk around the field. We all said to ourselves… “This field was awesome”. 60,000 square feet of indoor field. Tons of buildings, rooms, and obstacles for intense game play. The games that we played were pretty standard airsoft games with some unique twists to take advantage of the field. The atmosphere was great and the staff was completely awesome.
Here is another thing that surprised all of us. The staff there is 100% volunteer based. Each referee working there was donating their time and energy to make sure that Stockton, CA received some pretty sweet airsoft action. This speaks a lot to the caliber of people running the field.
MilSimJunkie was very helpful and proved to be an excellent host. We had a great time filming some fun shorts with him. You can see some of them on his YouTube channel.
Look forward to a video field review shortly! Until then, watch this…
We had a great time and will be trying to get up there again some time in the future. Thanks CQB City staff!
